Summary

Sheena Canter, an extraordinary entrepreneur and mindset coach, shares her advice for female entrepreneurs. She emphasises the importance of having someone to help and discuss your business with, rather than trying to do everything on your own. Sheena also highlights the significance of focusing on tasks that energise you and delegating the ones that drain your energy. She discusses the barriers she had to overcome, including her own self-doubt and the need to align her actions with her heart.

Sheena emphasises the importance of integrity with oneself and the practice of handing over control to a higher intelligence. She also talks about the power of belief and resolve in achieving one's dreams. In this conversation, Sheena Cantar and Michelle Margaret Marques discuss the power of manifestation and the importance of positive thinking. They emphasise the idea that our thoughts and beliefs shape our reality and that by focusing on what we want and appreciating what we have, we can attract abundance into our lives.

They also touch on the role of gratitude, visualization, and taking inspired action in manifesting our desires. Sheena shares her personal experience of losing her home and how it led her to a deeper understanding of what truly matters in life. The conversation concludes with Sheena offering the audience a gift in the form of her book, 'Switch to Rich,' which outlines her six-step process for finding peace and manifesting desires.

Takeaways

Having someone to help and discuss your business with is important for female entrepreneurs.
Focus on tasks that energize you and delegate the ones that drain your energy.
Overcoming self-doubt and aligning actions with the heart are significant barriers to overcome.
Integrity with oneself and handing over control to a higher intelligence are key to success.
Belief and resolve are essential in achieving one's dreams. Our thoughts and beliefs shape our reality, so it's important to focus on what we want and believe in our ability to manifest it.
Gratitude is a powerful tool for attracting abundance. By appreciating what we have, we create a positive vibration that attracts more good things into our lives.
Visualisation is a key practice in manifestation. By vividly imagining our desires as already fulfilled, we align ourselves with the energy of what we want and attract it into our reality.
Taking inspired action is essential in manifesting our desires. It's not enough to simply think positive thoughts; we must also take steps towards our goals and trust that the universe will support us.
Losing material possessions can be a catalyst for personal growth and a deeper understanding of what truly matters in life.

Michelle Margaret Marques (00:01.267)
So, welcome to the Bloody Hellshall podcast. I'm so excited. I have got an incredible guest for you guys today. Sheena Kanter, extraordinary entrepreneur and current client of mine. So of course, you know, I have to brag a little bit, right? Serial entrepreneur, author, mindset coach, Bob Proctor, consultant, polo player.

Castle owner. Oh, and she just happens to be an author and she's been 10 years in the current business that she's in. Welcome Sheena. Thank you so much for joining me today.

Sheena Cantar (00:37.262)
Thank you so much for having me. It's a pleasure.

Michelle Margaret Marques (00:47.443)
You're so, so welcome. Oh my gosh. So we're going to have a real raw conversation today. What is one piece of advice you wish you had when you first started out that you would give to other female entrepreneurs right now?

Sheena Cantar (00:57.613)
Oh my goodness, have somebody to help you. So like have a PA, a VA, it's really really important to have somebody to help you and discuss your business with. Don't do everything on your own.

Oh my goodness, it is soul destroying and in the Bible it says you know when two or more get together you know and that is really a powerful thing whenever you're discussing ideas it's like a third idea you know will come out of that so somebody who's got your back and who can take the things that you don't like to do. You don't have to be an expert at everything Sheena, no.

Michelle Margaret Marques (01:45.875)
Mm -hmm.

Michelle Margaret Marques (01:52.531)
Oh, I love that. I love that you made that point. You don't have to do the things you don't want to do. I love that. Honestly, I have a team now and oh my gosh, if I'd have been able to have a team beforehand, like seriously, because I don't know about you Sheena, but I do not like doing admin. Admin is like my, that's the thing that gets left until the absolute deadline.

Sheena Cantar (02:12.331)
No.

Michelle Margaret Marques (02:22.451)
it's needed and then I'm up till three in the morning. Or I used to be.

Sheena Cantar (02:26.379)
I don't like to do a lot of things. I mean, I can do them, but actually I realise, you know, what you've got to notice is what drains your energy, what gives you energy and what drains your energy. So on paper, I look like I'm a computer expert, you know, and real business focused and et cetera, et cetera with my qualifications. But you know what, if you leave me for the computer and you leave me there all day, I will be the most miserable drained person by the end of the day. You sent me out and go and talking to people. Well, I do that all day.

And I'll be tired, but I'll be high tired, not exhausted tired. I will have appreciated rather than de -appreciated.

Michelle Margaret Marques (03:04.851)
Yeah, absolutely. Oh, I totally agree. I totally agree when it comes to all that stuff that, you know, the boring stuff that has and some people don't find it boring. So let's not like for me boring. Oh, I'm the same. I'm like, please somebody just give me an excuse to get away from this. Oh, so having said that, I love that you mentioned the thing about energy because

Sheena Cantar (03:14.281)
Yep.

Michelle Margaret Marques (03:30.451)
There's a really fantastic exercise that I do for my clients and it's called an energy audit, right? And I love to have them write down all the things that drain them of energy and all the things that give them energy, that energize them. What would you say would be on your list, having just had that little discussion, your list of things that energize you in business?

Sheena Cantar (03:35.017)
Oh, talking to people and helping people. When I see somebody has gained something from their interaction with me,

I absolutely get so excited about it. You know, whenever, if I can have somebody make some more money and they message me and they just go, oh my goodness, I either saved this amount or I've made this amount, then I am just like going, oh my goodness, I am so excited and I can't wait, you know, to tell somebody else, you know, the same thing. So that, that absolutely, yeah, gives me, gives me energy. Plus horses. I mean, horses, horses and what I'm trying to pull more, well, not trying, I will be pulling in horses more and more in my work.

Michelle Margaret Marques (04:22.195)
yet.

Michelle Margaret Marques (04:32.147)
I have another client that is obsessed with horses. I mean, I do love horses myself. They're amazing animals. Let me ask you this question. As a female entrepreneur, what have been the most significant barriers that you've had to get past?

Sheena Cantar (04:50.345)
Myself.

Michelle Margaret Marques (04:51.635)
HAHAHAHA

Sheena Cantar (04:54.313)
The fact that I think that I can read a book and know it all. I had such a, I mean, whenever I was 19, I had an IQ test and my IQ was 140. So, you know, there's a lot of people out there with a very high intellect and you think because you know something that, you know, well, you know something and whenever you learn so much that you're actually just brought to your knees because you realize that you can't learn enough and that you don't know enough. And so it was a lie in that information to come into my heart and to feel my way like.

It was funny, Wolfgang and I, my partner were talking about where things didn't work out. And I said, I didn't feel in alignment. I knew it in my head, but I didn't feel in alignment with my heart. I felt like I was taking things from people rather than really seeing the value that I was giving them. I thought I was taking and getting from me. And it's a real big thing to realize that it's not about me, Sheena. Finally, it's not about you, Sheena. It's about...

Michelle Margaret Marques (05:42.419)
Mm.

Sheena Cantar (05:51.913)
what you're giving to other people and so I think that was the biggest barrier was my intellect, yeah, which is a lot of people's barriers because we've been taught that, you know, get all this information and do you know what it just gets in the flipping way.

Michelle Margaret Marques (06:07.635)
Yeah, yeah, because that's it. People think because they've read the book, they've listened to the podcast, they've, you know, whatever, they've attended the workshop, that's it. You have the information. But, you know, I often find with clients, and I often talk about this as well, it's that gap between having the information and actually taking the action, right?

Sheena Cantar (06:11.881)
Okay.

Sheena Cantar (06:34.057)
But I would say it's not even, you know, I was the action taker. Like, you know, if there was anything that needed to be done, Sheena did it. You know, that's what I realised when I look back at the tender age of 55, when I look back on my life, I realised that I wasn't scared of anything. If something scared me, then I just go and do it anyway. But I had to make sure that I wasn't involving my heart. I wasn't getting in alignment with me. I was trying to get in alignment with the company or.

Michelle Margaret Marques (06:34.387)
putting those steps in place, putting those structures in place.

Sheena Cantar (07:02.217)
the product or whatever, but that's not in alignment with me. And that was the key thing. And then do the action. So you need the knowledge, you need to contemplate, just be in alignment with yourself and then take the action. Whereas, yeah, intellect, action without the heart. Like it, well, you just work really hard.

Michelle Margaret Marques (07:25.715)
Yeah, it's true. You work hard, you run around in circles feeling like you're not getting anywhere, right?

Sheena Cantar (07:30.761)
Yeah, and you need to be busier and busier. Well, I need to work hard. I need to have more processes. I need to learn more. And it just goes on and on and on and on until you collapse one day and you just go, I know nothing.

Michelle Margaret Marques (07:38.867)
Right. Yeah.

Michelle Margaret Marques (07:44.499)
I need to do another workshop. I need to learn the next thing. I need to, you know, there's a new system. There's a new thing. There's a new tool. It's so, it can be never ending. Absolutely never ending.

Sheena Cantar (07:54.377)
100 percent.

Michelle Margaret Marques (07:59.379)
So what is the one thing that you learned in business that has really propelled you forward the most aside from from being in alignment with yourself? What's the other thing that you would say has made such a significant difference to you on your journey?

Sheena Cantar (08:15.657)
Integrity with myself. I mean, I just bring it back to this every single time would be that I don't have the answer to everything and to hand it over to the higher intelligence that we all are. You know, you can call it anything you want. You know, you can call it source, universe, God, consciousness. I mean, it doesn't really matter, but you know that there's something living and breathing you right now. Like who is breathing? What is breathing you right now?

And that our tiny, don't tell me that our 10 pound brains are holding anything. Like they're not holding, they're not holding anything. We're only seeing, not even seeing about 0 .0001 % of what's going on. So that admitting to myself that I do, and acknowledging that and accepting that I don't have any, you know, I don't know, but I've also been given ideas. When I can do that, then I become calmer. And then I have, then I have ideas in that calm space, which feel good. And then I can,

you know, contemplate on them, where are they taking me, et cetera, et cetera, but then also handing it over, handing it back to go, I want this to happen. Show me how. And literally, you will, I think that's something that it's a practice. Some people seem to get it really well. It took me an awful long time. I had too much information in the way than to just be able to hand it over. And then you'll get, maybe you'll see, you know, somebody like Michelle will reach out to you.

you know, or you'll read it in the book or somebody will say something to you or you'll get the phone call that you've been waiting for. And it'll just be something. So we've got to get out of our own way and really understand that we're just like a, yeah, a small fraction in what's going on. And that has made, first of all, it brings a calmness to yourself, which...

Michelle Margaret Marques (09:58.003)
idea.

Sheena Cantar (10:03.945)
The mind is too, too, too, too busy. The mind doesn't have all the information. All the left brain has is what you did yesterday. And you cannot ask yesterday's Sheena what today's Sheena needs to do for tomorrow. That's just not gonna work. So coming from a really calm place and not worrying.

Michelle Margaret Marques (10:19.955)
Mmm, I love it.

Sheena Cantar (10:24.233)
Oh my goodness, the vibration of worry because we're taught to worry aren't we? If you're not worrying and if you're not miserable, if things aren't going right for you then there's something wrong with you. You can't be smiling your whole way through this Sheena. No way! You know my mum would tell me you're having too much fun. Who says that to anybody? You know?

Michelle Margaret Marques (10:41.747)
It's so true. You know, growing up, we're both from Celtic backgrounds, aren't we? So growing up, it's so true. It's like all of those little sayings that breed such negativity. It's just like, poof, you know, shoot me now. Why? Why would you like, you know, you've, you, you, people that come from where we come from can't create these crazy dreams that you've got. Just go and get a job and be happy.

Sheena Cantar (10:58.825)
Hmm.

Michelle Margaret Marques (11:10.931)
Just go and settle down, just get a nice life. Don't dream too much, don't get too crazy. It's...

Sheena Cantar (11:14.377)
Oh, don't listen to anybody else. I mean, that's the thing. The dream was given to you. The vision was given to you. It wasn't a conference call. I love that saying, I do not know who said it, but it wasn't a conference call. So there's no point in running around everybody else and asking them, what do you think? What do you think? Especially not your parents. My goodness gracious me. They're out to protect you.

So you can't be rising too high because they tried to rise high and they got knocked down. And they think, like, I need to protect my little Sheena here. And so I need to make sure that she thinks that she's just, you know, she's at this level and she can't be going any higher. Well, sorry, mummy, but, you know, I know you know now.

Michelle Margaret Marques (11:41.747)
Yeah.

Michelle Margaret Marques (11:46.707)
Yeah.

Michelle Margaret Marques (11:59.379)
That's it, you know, and I have to say a lot of those people that said to me back then, oh, you're just crazy. These are crazy dreams that they're all saying, oh, you've done everything you said you were going to do. You proved us all wrong. And that's what we have to do, isn't it? You have to just keep going after what you want. I think Lisa Nichols said it best, other people's opinions are none of your business, right?

Sheena Cantar (12:30.377)
Absolutely. Absolutely.

Michelle Margaret Marques (12:30.387)
Yeah, it's, and you, you just got to follow that path. I've never heard the bit about the conference call, but I have heard that the dream was given to you. The vision was given to you. It wasn't given to anyone else. If you weren't capable of it, you wouldn't have been given it.

Sheena Cantar (12:35.465)
No, I mean that's what Bob Proctor says, you wouldn't want it if it wasn't already yours. And you know, the way I see this is that, you know, whenever somebody, when somebody dies,

and we miss them so much. I always say to people it's because they're closer than ever to you. They couldn't be that close in physical form. They're now in spiritual form completely. Therefore they are one with you. You mistake this feeling of missing as they have gone. It's not it's here. And it's the same with our dreams and visions. They were given to you. You didn't, I mean, where did they come from? They just popped into your head, you know? And some of us just like go, oh no, no, can't be thinking like that. We'd rather think miserable thoughts and think like, oh, what if you could own a castle, Sheena?

You know, and so that's the thing is just like that desire for something rather than thinking that, oh, I want it because then that just creates more wanting is to literally just go, oh, it's mine. It's here. It's in my energy. It's an idea. An idea is just the same as me. We're all just energy. It's exactly the same thing and become one with the idea knowing it's already completed. So there's no way that this creator of this universe,

Michelle Margaret Marques (13:38.739)
Yeah.

Michelle Margaret Marques (13:50.835)
Yeah.

Sheena Cantar (13:53.961)
would have given you a vision and not the means of having it. Like that would be completely cruel, wouldn't it? So it's there.

Michelle Margaret Marques (13:59.699)
Yeah, there's only one person that can stop you from getting what you want. And that is the person looking right back at you in the mirror every time you stand in front of it, right? So Sheena, you are somebody who I absolutely admire and adore, right?

Sheena Cantar (14:14.441)
Absolutely.

Michelle Margaret Marques (14:22.291)
And I have to say, that right there that you said, we've been given an idea, and I know we say everything's created twice, once in our imagination and then for real. You are somebody who has such absolute belief and resolve, that energy like you say, you, I think.

more than anybody I've ever met in my entire life that just has this absolute it's happening, it's mine, there's no way it's not happening. How did you cultivate that?

Sheena Cantar (14:51.817)
Oh, through again, I mean, I not knowledge, but it was the study of knowledge, you know, the study of knowledge, I guess that's what it is. All that, you know, like using studying the Bible, studying scripture, studying, you know, science, even a bit of Shakespeare thrown in there with everything.

Michelle Margaret Marques (15:07.155)
I'm sorry.

Sheena Cantar (15:16.681)
you know, the different religions and the conspiracy theory and all the stuff, all the rabbit holes that I went down on and basically everything saying the same thing. And what I had that we are greater than what we think we are. So I love the saying in the Bible that says,

God became man so man could become God. And when you think of it, that would be God becomes man becomes a depreciating value. Now, what are all the comments that everybody says to each other and what our parents had said? You can't do that, you can't do this, I'm not good at this, I'm not good at that, blah, blah, blah. And then the second part of that statement, it's almost like phase two of your life, man becomes God. It happened for me whenever it was my divorce. And Michelle, I was just literally on the mountain and I went, there's something more here.

I don't know what it is. And so that sent me on basically as soon as I became an entrepreneur that it was actually longer than that, probably about 12 year journey of studying every single thing that science and medical and biology and chemistry and anything that's out there that I could literally study led me to the point where I knew nothing. So that's really funny. Why don't we just start off not knowing anything, but no, I had to prove a point. 12 years of study to know I know nothing. And actually,

You know, I'm setting out to prove that scripture and science are setting out, you know, are the same thing. And so if I say something, you know, and I mentioned the Bible, then I will back it up by the science behind it. And so it's through that knowledge that helped me with the confidence, but then the knowledge starts to fall into your heart. And it's a lie. And that knowledge is to come, rather than reading 50 books in a year, you know, that, I think I read a hundred books one year, you know, that you literally,

Michelle Margaret Marques (16:49.619)
Yeah.

Sheena Cantar (17:00.681)
contemplate on something and let it drop, drop, drop. So I'm doing like Course in Miracles at the moment. And, you know, I know it's only supposed to take you a year, but I think it's going to take me at least 10 years because I see one lesson and I'm like, well, I know that intellectually, but I don't experience that. What do you mean by that experience? So the last lesson I left and two weeks later I read something else and I go, oh, I get to experience that. So I'm...

Michelle Margaret Marques (17:03.411)
Yeah.

Michelle Margaret Marques (17:15.539)
Yeah.

Sheena Cantar (17:29.833)
experiencing what I knew kind of thing so then then you practice like you said actions and then practice so I'm now practicing handing it over to who I don't know who nobody knows it doesn't matter and then I get an answer and something happens and I am like okay okay yeah and I know that we are if I'm a light I can shine everywhere we're all made of light everybody knows that by

Michelle Margaret Marques (17:43.315)
Doesn't matter.

Sheena Cantar (17:59.145)
except in school when you're taught in school that you're not made of light, but that's besides the point. We all know that we're made of light. And so if I'm just a light bulb, then I'm shining everywhere. And you have to be really, really focused. Think of a laser going through a magnifying glass, a sunlight going through a magnifying glass, it's laser focused and it will burn a piece of paper. So I realized that I couldn't shine my light everywhere. I had to have one focus. That's it.

Michelle Margaret Marques (18:17.747)
Yeah.

Sheena Cantar (18:25.385)
and all obstacles must fall away and in the Bible it said for the time the clock strikes 12 you will have denied me three times. How many people who are listening to this have done their affirmations in the morning? I'm a millionaire, I'm a millionaire.

then somebody asks them to go for a coffee and they go I can't afford it. So it was my inner conversation what I got there eventually Michelle I got there eventually my inner conversation wow that has to match what I want and it is a discipline of the mind discipline is your freedom there you go I did get there eventually discipline is your freedom.

Michelle Margaret Marques (19:04.595)
Yeah, absolutely. I totally agree. I always say your words create your world, right? So like you say, on the one hand, you could be sitting there in front of your mirror, at your altar, wherever that might be for you, you know, whatever. Asking for whatever, thanking for whatever. I am a millionaire. I am living the life that I want to live.

Sheena Cantar (19:26.121)
Hmm hmm

Michelle Margaret Marques (19:31.187)
I am doing X, Y, Z or whatever, right? And then like you say, something happens and you're like, oh no, I can't afford that. Or no, I don't have time for that. No, I will have to do that later. It's not right for me right now. And then that way you're actually just pushing away the things that you said you want.

Sheena Cantar (19:51.977)
If you think of it in scientific terms, you know, we're creating our universe as we're going along and you're collapsing waves as you're going along. So one minute you're saying, I'm a millionaire and those waves are starting to move and starting to form. And then you come over here and then you go, I'm not. And then poof, right back down. And so I understand when people go like, yeah, but I'm not on paper. And I go, well, keep defending that and that's what you're gonna get. I love another saying is my eyes deceive me. So see with vision, not with sight.

Michelle Margaret Marques (20:14.867)
Yes.

Sheena Cantar (20:20.489)
And so whenever I see something that is not in accordance with what I know, what I know to be true is going, well, it may look like that now, but the truth is, and I would state the truth to myself. Now I can do that with a few people around me, but most people would think you were completely stupid. So I recommend people don't say it to anybody. Just do it in your own mind. Tell yourself the truth is, I am a millionaire. And...

Michelle Margaret Marques (20:33.139)
Yeah.

Sheena Cantar (20:47.241)
They may see that, but I don't see that because in my mind's eye I see one million in my bank account and just don't deny it ever.

Michelle Margaret Marques (20:58.259)
I totally, totally couldn't agree more. You know, energy at the end of the day, we can say it very easily, where thought goes, energy flows. And it's just really that simple. It's just, you have to just absolutely believe 100 % and speak in a way where it's happened, it's happening, it's here, it's real, it's mine.

Sheena Cantar (21:00.201)
I'm sorry.

Michelle Margaret Marques (21:27.347)
I always ban my clients from saying the word if. My clients are not allowed to say if. When? There's no if. There's no if I get that client. When I get the next client. When I reach a million. When I accomplish X, Y, and Z and through to, you know, through to a hundred and, hundred billion, right? But.

Let me ask you this, what would you say to those people that may be listening to this right now and saying, ah, that's just all woo woo. That's a complete load of crock. Utter nonsense. These people are back crazy. What would you say to that?

Sheena Cantar (21:54.217)
I'd say you're right.

Sheena Cantar (22:19.497)
I'm not, let me tell you Michelle, I am not going to argue with anybody. What you believe to be true is true for you. If there's one thing that I have learnt that there's only one truth and it's your truth and it's not the same as anybody else's, it's just like, you know, is there a God? Well, I don't know. There's eight billion different variations and perceptions of God. So you just tell me what you think God is and I'll agree with you. If you like that version, well then, then I'm going to agree with you and it'll be fine. So what you think is true for you is true for you.

Michelle Margaret Marques (22:31.155)
Yeah.

Sheena Cantar (22:47.241)
Here's something like, you know, even, just, I mean, why would anybody say that these days? Not anyway, just go and look at all the evidence. But then here's the thing, if you want to find the evidence for a flat earth, you will find all the evidence that you want. Like, absolutely. But if you want, and I felt on that trap as well, and I realized, hang on, if I wanted to believe in a round earth, I'll find all the evidence for that. Duh, this is science, this is quantum physics, whatever, I'm focusing on.

Michelle Margaret Marques (22:54.419)
Yeah.

Sheena Cantar (23:13.353)
I am going to bring the energy of that and all my subconscious will go, oh, that's true for you Sheena. Let me bring you the evidence. So you think you're sick. So I remember there was one guy and he had an allergy to something. And I just happened to say, cause I love to say things and see what happens to people and either bite or they, you know, I stopped the conversation. I just see where people are. And so he said he had an allergy and I said, oh.

science starts to detect that you don't have to have that allergy if you don't want it and he was so indignant oh my goodness Michelle he said I have got medical evidence and I bet you do I bet you do you know and I was just agreeing with him anyway we were at a dinner table but he didn't sit beside me whenever we had a wee break and then come back he went somewhere else and I went you see he wanted to argue for his limitations and what I want people to do is argue with that same passion.

Michelle Margaret Marques (23:54.579)
Thank you.

Michelle Margaret Marques (24:06.707)
Yeah.

Sheena Cantar (24:10.825)
for what you want. Use the same energy but say what you want. Don't go, I haven't got it, I haven't got it. Go, oh my God, I love having this, I love having this. Whatever it is from your heart.

Michelle Margaret Marques (24:23.923)
You know, you took the words right out of my mouth. People are so, so happy to argue for the limitations, like, beyond any other type of argument at all. No, I can't do that. That is not for me. That is not the person I am. I can't believe that. I can't do... It bewilders me.

Sheena Cantar (24:38.121)
But the way I see it is that.

Michelle Margaret Marques (24:49.811)
And it's exactly the same thing. It's like, well, why can't you fight for what you want with that much passion? Let's see you fight for what you want with that much determination and that much grit and that much, you know.

Sheena Cantar (25:04.969)
There's a lot of people, you know, God became man scenario. So it was, you know, you are infinite intelligence itself, your infinite knowledge, because where did your knowledge start? Where does it end? I mean, it doesn't really matter. I can tell you facts every day for the next 365 days and you'd still have room for more, which means you are so infinite. It's unbelievable. And so that's the thing is that we actually came from infinite to experience our limitations because otherwise when you're infinite, then well, nothing's happening. You're just.

Michelle Margaret Marques (25:24.627)
Yeah.

Sheena Cantar (25:34.729)
infinite. So whatever happened happened that we could experience being a limit. So now instead of looking up to a million we can now look down and go I want to limit myself to a million. Oh my goodness how much fun can this be? But you see that depreciation that we're doing. I can't, I can't, we fight for it but then there comes a moment when you turn around and you realize it's about appreciation.

And when you can start to appreciate yourself, even if it's not, I haven't got a million, but appreciate that maybe you've got 2 .50 in your bank account and appreciate that because of what you appreciate, appreciates. And that's where we can start, you know, with everybody. Like I had my daughter, Michelle, she'd gone through a bit of a rough time. And I just said, I said, the only answer I have for everything is love and appreciation. I said, as if your life depended on it, I want you to do this for yourself.

Michelle Margaret Marques (26:11.731)
Yes.

Sheena Cantar (26:27.497)
she brought herself to a very, very low place. And anyway, she has this new job, a lot more money. And I said, I knew that was just literally kicking you up the backside because you need to do, and she's doing love and appreciation. She's even crying with appreciation for herself. Like that, you know, the universe could be so generous for her and she's now growing. Now, if you can learn that at the age of 25 that she is, I didn't learn that really until I'm 55 now. And I would even say,

It's probably only been in the last year that I've really, really realised that that's the truth. Love and appreciation, regardless.

Michelle Margaret Marques (27:05.075)
Yeah, gratitude has to be one of the most single -handed miracles that you can ever actually implement into your life. I give gratitude for every tiny thing, and I mean tiny. Something happens, even the smallest thing, the morning goes smoothly. Thank you so much, Universe. A difficult situation resolves itself like I was dealing with on Sunday. Thank you so much, Universe. You know?

Sheena Cantar (27:08.073)
Thank you.

Michelle Margaret Marques (27:34.419)
Thank you. And I want to ask you this, you're a fairly religious person and I'm not.

Sheena Cantar (27:39.945)
Well, I wouldn't say religious, I would take religion out of it.

Michelle Margaret Marques (27:43.667)
Okay, right. So that's fair to say, because I guess we're on the same page with that then, because I would say the same thing. But for me, I do spend time in churches and chapels and cathedrals and whatever. I'm actually fascinated with religious buildings, to be honest with you. It's a beautiful insight. And my daughter actually happens to do a lot of her music lessons. She plays the oboe.

Sheena Cantar (28:02.633)
Yeah. Oh, they're beautiful.

Michelle Margaret Marques (28:11.379)
and she happens to do a lot of her rehearsals and music lessons in this beautiful cathedral, right? It's absolutely stunning in sight. And I sat there on the Harphew, which I don't really appreciate. For sometimes I was out of time. But I sat there and I find myself saying, thank you for my incredible daughter. Thank you for the incredible life I have. Thank you. And I spend...

whatever time, if we're there for an hour, I will spend that time thanking for anything that I can think about while I'm sitting there. The tiniest thing, thank you for this seat, although it hurts my bum. You know, it doesn't matter. Yeah, you put a cushion on it. So my point is, is I learned I did an interview with someone, Steven Scoggins, a few years back, incredible person.

Sheena Cantar (28:43.561)
Next time put a cushion on it. You know, thank you.

Sheena Cantar (29:03.657)
Oh, God, yeah.

Michelle Margaret Marques (29:07.891)
And he taught me this technique of praying to say, not praying to ask. I was doing it before, but never really understood it and never understood the concept of it before. I think it's absolutely incredible. Instead of asking for the things that you want to happen, thank the universe, God, whoever it is that you thank for it.

Sheena Cantar (29:31.113)
Oh 100 % I mean the saying goes it is said and before you will have asked I will have given so you know science is showing us that we're about six seconds two to six seconds behind consciously what's going on and so you know so who thought the thought like I just became consciously aware of it.

up to six seconds in some cases behind what had already been done. They did an MRI scan and they were able to see literally the decision -making thing was already done. And then you became consciously aware of a decision. Wow, that blew me away. So I matched the science then to what did it say in the Bible? Before you will have asked, I will have given. So this is where we came back to, you were given. This is a gift. And depending on the vibration that you're in, whether you're happy, sad or indifferent,

Michelle Margaret Marques (30:11.379)
Yeah.

Sheena Cantar (30:25.353)
you will receive gifts on those different levels that you'll tap into. And they are our gifts, even if you think, well, this thought isn't a gift. And they're going, well, how do you know? We've got to learn to stop judging good and bad. It's just like, I see what people call the devil or Satan or negativity as our little prod to freaking move, to go do something different, you know? Not to just jump in positivity because say the positivity is the heads and the tails is the negativity.

Michelle Margaret Marques (30:28.275)
Right.

Michelle Margaret Marques (30:46.291)
Yes. Yeah.

Sheena Cantar (30:55.177)
It's part of the same coin and I can never pick up that coin. Oh, here's a great phrase and it's from a song. Somebody might know what it is. You cannot have the best of me if you cannot take the worst of me. And so that's the thing. It's just like, you know, you think, oh, this isn't nice, but this is, well, you can't pick up the freaking coin. Yeah.

Michelle Margaret Marques (30:57.107)
Yes.

Michelle Margaret Marques (31:07.443)
Yes! I love that.

Michelle Margaret Marques (31:16.179)
No, it's not good or bad, it just is. It just is, and it's what you make of it. It's the decisions you make from there. It's how you deal with it. It's how you move forward that is the most important, right? When people say, oh, a bad thing happened, or, you know, Michelle, you live in Barbados, you're so lucky. I'm very sorry for you, but luck had very little to do with where I am right now.

It was taking the actions, it was having, it was receiving those ideas, it was receiving that vision and it was having that inner gambit, as I call it, to go after it. You know, it was having that knowing and taking that risk rather like a gambit, you know, the Queen's gambit, the move, that move that is risky but could, if pulled off correctly, give you the advantage of everything, right?

Sheena Cantar (32:01.545)
And I think it's, I don't really know the answer to that why some people can you know all of a sudden you know.

Michelle Margaret Marques (32:09.939)
So it's just amazing how different people get to different places with, let's say, a lot of friction or less friction, right?

Sheena Cantar (32:27.369)
jump up somewhere, but we don't know the seeds that they planted. And that's the thing. So we're judging ourselves against somebody else who was really, really successful. We don't know how long they've been planting those seeds. And so we plant, we have to just look after our own garden. And I love the saying as well, you know, oh, the grass is greener over there. Well, that's because they looked after it, you know, and it's like, if you look after your own grass in your own garden and your own weeds in your own garden, which is your mind, then, you know, maybe your grass will be green as well. But again, that goes back to, yeah. Oh my God.

Michelle Margaret Marques (32:53.331)
Yeah, you gotta keep filling them weeds out. You gotta keep filling them weeds out.

Sheena Cantar (32:57.865)
It's like you cleaned the house. Well, you wouldn't be letting the flipping dirty dog run in through the house again, would you? You'd be like shutting that door and just going, you're staying outside, clean yourself up and you can come back in again. Well, think of your brain like that, like your mind. You let everybody in on it. Like you wouldn't let everybody in on your phone, but oh no, let everybody else's comments. Yeah, but you let your...

Michelle Margaret Marques (33:07.699)
Great.

Michelle Margaret Marques (33:16.691)
Oh no, our phones are locked with face ID.

Sheena Cantar (33:21.705)
Your mind is open for everybody, the flippin' TV. Let's leave the radio on. Let's overhear conversations. Oh my goodness, we just allow all that in. I'm just like, no, you're not getting in. Like, not a chance in hell. There's a great...

Michelle Margaret Marques (33:23.763)
Bye.

Michelle Margaret Marques (33:34.579)
Yeah, thank you. Yeah, the same, exactly the same. Oh my gosh. We're almost at time. Sheena, let me ask you this. I have a question I like to ask every single person on my podcast and I love it. I love this question. Of course, why would I not love it? Why would I ask it if I don't love it? Looking back, what was the jaw dropping bloody hell shell moment that challenged

Sheena Cantar (33:51.561)
Losing my home. So both my kids had, they had their own troubles that they were going through and they both lost their homes. And so there was me.

Michelle Margaret Marques (34:03.667)
everything you ever thought but really was the catalyst to the path that you're on right now.

Sheena Cantar (34:21.481)
you know, thinking everything was all rosy and I had a home for them. And now, bear in mind, they're in the flipping 20s, for God's sake, I'm not talking about blooming little kids, I just chucked them out. And then, no matter what Wolfgang and I did that year, no matter what we did, no matter what direction we went to, nothing was working. And so we lost the home, the car, you know, pride, ego, everything. And actually losing your ego is one of the best things that you can actually do.

Because then you see really what's important and that's where the calmness came from was just like, right, okay, so the worst thing has happened to me. And actually that was the second time, but I mean, this seemed to be a lot bigger because it involved a lot more, it involved more people. And so, but it led me then to take a chance and like you said, you know, take a chance on something. So we moved to Austria. I've been skiing all winter. I learned about myself on the ski slopes.

And I was able to put into practice without anybody else around me exactly what all the stuff that I had learned and to really start to trust myself. So it doesn't, what I've learned is that money, no money, home, no home. People love me, people don't. I'm still okay. And I am still loved. And bring it on universe. You know, I'm done now running the cat.

Michelle Margaret Marques (35:42.515)
Yes.

Sheena Cantar (35:49.353)
When the cat runs, the dog chases, I've stopped running. And it's just like, I don't care. I don't care. But I'm more in love with me and the world and everything. So it's not like apathy. It's not a bitterness. It's like a love that is unbelievable that has emerged through me and through all this when you drop the ego and you don't care.

yet you care more. It's really kind of funny, it's like a paradox.

Michelle Margaret Marques (36:21.075)
Oh, I love that answer. Oh my gosh, thank you. And you didn't kill yourself on the ski slopes. Look at that.

Sheena Cantar (36:29.385)
Oh my goodness, you really meet yourself on the ski slopes, let me tell you, but I heard all these conversations, you can't do that, and then I sat and had a conversation with myself, Michelle, one day, and I went, I tell you what, Boddy, here's the way it's gonna go. We're going skiing, and we're gonna go, I'm not gonna be the one sitting at the bottom, we're gonna go up and down all the red slopes on that mountain, I don't care what you say, no black slopes, not just yet, we're doing all the red slopes though, we are doing them, and I don't wanna hear one.

word from you we're gonna get to the top of the slope and we're gonna go so we had a bit of a break because of the snow for three weeks so I just visualized me going down this steepest slope and going I don't care what you're saying we're going you know and anyway then the next time the next day we went out literally I went down all the red slopes without it without a noise without the chirping nothing

Michelle Margaret Marques (37:17.714)
Yep, yep, visualization, oh my goodness. And that is an amazing place to finish on because you know what guys, anything you want in your life, absolutely anything, visualize it. Visualize it already happened. Visualize yourself doing it. Visualize yourself being in the home, being on the beach, whatever that means to you, driving the car, wearing the clothes, whatever that is.

visualize it and then take the action to do it. All right. Ah, Sheena, we've reached the end of our time in this session anyway, right? Not the end of our time, because we're not going anywhere. We've got tons of stuff still to do. So I asked my guests, every one of my guests, if they would please give my audience a bonus, a little gift. Would you like to give my audience a gift, Sheena?

Sheena Cantar (37:58.409)
Absolutely and it was a gift that was given to me. So whenever I was in my worst moments, I came up with I had I knew that when I would go horse riding and jump, I always had a process that I would went through with my horse before we would.

reach a fence so he knew exactly what to do. I mean you'd think horses know how to jump but anyway it was more for me not the horse. So this process then that came out was to help me get out of the darkest deepest moments that I've ever been in and experienced and I call it the six A's. So the book I wrote about it is called Switch to Rich and it's called The Key, The Secret to Happiness. The switch to rich, rich is a feeling it is not a number.

Michelle Margaret Marques (38:34.547)
Yeah.

Sheena Cantar (38:52.489)
And so these six A's, so you'll have to get the book to understand what these six A's will first bring you to peace and then guide you to where you want to go. It'll either guide you outside, but to be honest, I recommend that it guides you inside first of all, and then you think outside if you want to. But the first thing that we all want in this world is just peace.

Michelle Margaret Marques (39:13.939)
Mmm, oh I love that. I love that. Well guys you will have to listen to the show in order to get that incredible book and of course we will add it into the show notes so you can claim it and please do go ahead and claim it because I think you would be silly to look this gift horse in the mouth. See what I did there?

Well, some people tell me I can be a stand -up comedian, but that did not hit the mark. Sheena, thank you so, so, so much for joining me today. I tell you what, I love having conversations with you and I cannot wait to have you back on the show at some point. Thank you so much.

Sheena Cantar (39:59.881)
Thank you so much.

Michelle Margaret Marques (40:03.443)
Hehehehehe
